The Wedding

The Day Before

Pre-Wedding Sunset | 6:00 PM | Praça do Povo/Marina, Funchal (See map)

You know we love a good party. On the day before the wedding, we will have a special gathering, exclusively for close friends and family. This is the perfect opportunity for us to get into the wedding spirit, so we invite you to arrive on the island at least one or two days in advance.

What to expect? That's a surprise! We only ask that you bring:
-Swimsuit (optional)
-A stylish but comfortable white outfit! (Ladies, save the heels for the next day.)
-Good spirits (mandatory!)

The Big Day

Ceremony | 3:00 PM | Convento de Santa Clara (See map)

The ceremony will take place at the Convent of Santa Clara, located in the center of Funchal. We recommend arriving 30 minutes early, as parking spaces in the vicinity are limited, and we don't want you to miss anything! After the ceremony, we will have a small cocktail in the gardens of the Convent.

Welcome Cocktail | 7:00 PM | The Views Baía (See map)

The hotel is only a 2-minute drive from Convento de Santa Clara, or a 15-minute walk. After the Cocktail, we'll have dinner, the party, and many surprises!

What to visit

in Madeira

We'd love to show you around our island, but since that's not possible this time, here's a quick plan with our favorite suggestions.

Day 1

Explore Funchal

-Mercado dos Lavradores (Funchal Farmers Market): Discover exotic fruits you can taste.

-Zona Velha (Rua de Santa Maria): This is the oldest part of Funchal, like a miniature Bairro Alto, with restaurants, bars, and colorful doors.

-Madeira Botanical Garden or Monte Palace Tropical Garden: We love the last one, and it’s reachable by cable car.

-Carrinhos de Cesto no Monte: A fun option for a little excitement. Fun fact: We've never tried this attraction, and it's rare for a local to have. We look forward to hearing about your experience.

Day 2

Mountains and Beautiful Landscapes

-Pico do Arieiro: Ideal for sunrise. For a short walk, visit Ninho da Manta Viewpoint – our favorite. The view is so worth it, and it's not so touristy.

-Vereda dos Balcões, Ribeiro Frio: A short hike to a stunning viewpoint. If you're short on time, it's a good alternative to the famous “levadas”. Tip: Bring bread; birds will fly to your hand for a treat.

-Santana Traditional Houses: Iconic traditional houses of Santana. No, locals don't live in them.

-Ponta de São Lourenço, Caniçal: Get the best view from Ponta do Rosto Viewpoint.

West Side of the Island

DAY 3

-Bica da Cana, Paúl da Serra

-Fanal Forest:
Home to century-old trees and a beautiful landscape that becomes mysterious in fog. Fun fact: We took some of our engagement photos here.

-Eira da Achada Viewpoint

-Ribeira da Janela

-Seixal:
Visit the famous black sand beach – a must-stop for photos. Also, take a dip in Poço das Lesmas, a natural pool with free entrance.

-Porto Moniz Natural Pools

-Câmara de Lobos and Cabo Girão Viewpoint:
This viewpoint offers a breathtaking view, especially if you're afraid of heights.
